As you all know, I have won the AcQuabella and AcQuabene by Penshoppe Promo and got an iPad 2 after I attended the Nuffnang Blogopolis. I have been an android user for a couple of years now and it is my first time to own an Apple product... What a better way to own one other than as a freebie, WEEEHHH!!!!

This will not be a tech review but just a simple unboxing moment. I am sure you could all relate since Christmas time is just two sleeps away and we are all excited to unbox our presents. By the way, did you know that in New Zealand Dec 26 is a national holiday for them called "Boxing Day"? It is the day they (un)box the Christmas presents that they recieved. Oh, that just something I learn from my former counterpart who hails there.

So without further adieu, unbox this iPad2 with me.

Thank you Lord for using Nuffnang Philippines and AcQuabella/AcQuabene by Penshoppe as your channel of blessing. I pray you make these brands prosper in 2013 that would be honorable to your name!

I got this iPad Halo Case from Glorietta for only Php 835.00. I am wandering how I could better protect this nifty gadget, any suggestions? Feel free to comment below.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Evidently, I had fun attending the very first Nuffnang Philippines Bloggers Summit that I ended up with a number of posts. If you have been following me on twitter, you know I am down with a bad case of cough and cold. I've been wanting to finish out my Blogopolis series last Sunday but I couldn't gather my thoughts. Although, I am still recuperating right now I would like to wrap all things Blogopolis before I go on vacation.

As I close this, below are the TOP 5 Things I Like About Blogopolis 2012

Top 5: Makati Shangri-La. Easy location and a very posh venue to conduct the one day summit. Lovely background for the pictures, don't you agree?

Hubby and I grew up in the 90s -- the era when Pinoy Rock Bands reign the FM radio frequency. Not only the Eraserheads and Rivermaya tops the OPM Charts and fills up song hits magazines, but metal bands like Wolfgang also made their own personal mark in the local music industry.

Fast forward today, two decades after -- who would have thought that we will have the chance to see the rock band royalty, Wolfgang, performing live in our favorite place to be: Bonifacio Global City... for FREE!

Yeap, it was through the efforts of the Bonifacio Global City community who put up the very first PassionFest 2012. A 3-day celebration of different passions that makes this urban modern community lively and interactive. I'll be blogging more about the PassionFest in the following days but for the meantime here is a preview of Wolfgang's performance last night. They were the very first professional act that performed as the festivity opened.

No Falter by Wolfgang

Coincidentally, one of my Nuffnang Blogopolis freebies from AcQuabella by Penshoppe is a 100mL bottle of "I AM ROCK CHIC" included in the I AM Body Spray Collection. I totally enjoyed the first two scents that I tried that this time I also want to share this fragrance to one blog reader who rocks!

Here's the mechanics:

Open for blog readers here and abroad but with shipping address within the Philippines (so I could ship the bottle with no hassle, I will cover the shipping charges). Male readers can join assuming that you are joining to win for a rock chic that you know *yiheee, may crush*.

1. Click the Facebook Share icon found below at the very end of this post to quickly share in your timeline.
2. Leave your Facebook username in the comment box (also found below) so we could find you in FB.

That's it! Promo ends on December 8, 12 midnight and we'll announce the winner at our FB Pages the next day. For security purposes, we will get the shipping address of the future winner via personal email.

Thanks to Nuffnang Blogopolis, I am now on my second scent from the AcQuabella by Penshoppe freebie. I already tried one fragrance from the I AM Collection body spray so I decided to try one from the Fruity Mist Collection.

The one I had inside my loot bag was the Cherry Burst variant. So I sprayed it on me and smelled it.
YAPtography photoshops to multiply my freebie

Then I asked hubby to sniff me (hihihi, children don't do this at home!). He purposely flirtly lingered a little while getting wind of the scent. He smiled back at me and said it smells like bubble gum. I totally agree because it kinda reminded me of my childhood favorite candy -- the Cherry Balls bubblegum that you get for 25 cents a piece that doubled as a red lipstick. Remember that one? When we were still a young girl we use it trying to look like all dolled up without putting on actual make-up.

Photo from the Internet (Cherry Balls)

The Fruity Mist Cherry Burst body spray made me reminiscent of that childhood memory and I like that when fragrance triggers your sensory and allowing your brain to find connections to your experiences. I am glad that I opened this bottle for myself.

But wait there is more!

I have enjoyed the two scents that I tried so far that I'll be sharing the remaining AcQuaBella by Penshoppe freebies to a lucky blog reader. Catch my next post so you too can activate your sense of smell when I give away AcQuabella by Penshoppe Body Spray for FREE!!!
Earlier I mentioned to you that my favorite from the AcQuabella by Penshoppe freebie in the Nuffnang Blogopolis lootbag was the 'I am Sassy'. So to cap off my busy week and welcome the weekend I decided to sprint on this yellow variant from the "I AM" Collection.

I am not big on perfumes but I do enjoy light scents that perks you up in the morning to help you start your day right. As we prepared for work, hubby stopped and asked..."Uhmm... Nagpabango ka ba?". Which I answered with a big yes, "I put on the I-Am-Sassy AcQuabella".

The five sprays I did in the morning already lasted for the whole day at the office. The only time I sprayed it on again was during early evening when BGC Passionfest was about to start at 9th St. of Bonifacio High Street.

One of the six variant from the I AM Collection Body Spray, 'I am Sassy' is describe as bloom and blush with sun-ripened citrus orange and apple, mingled with warm floral bouquet of sheer musk and sandalwood. For me, it is like wearing summer scent during Christmas season. I think this body spray is perfect for our upcoming Coron Island getaway!

A big plus is that this AcQuaBella by Penshoppe Collection is available in leading beauty shops and drug store nationwide at a very affordable price!

I was glad that hubby picked me up from Makati Shangri-La after the Nuffnang Philippines Blogopolis event. I would have probably had to hail a cab so I could carry FOUR lootbags all for free...feeling ko nanalo ako ng sari-sari store showcase from a noontime show sa dami! Of course, we had to thank the generosity of the sponsors for giving out so much freebies.

1-2-3...4 lootbags!

So when I got home from the fun-filled day, I still took pixies to post on my Instagram. One by one I unpacked each lootbags and feeling like a kid again coming out from a children's birthday party.

There was a couple of smaller Penshoppe plastic bags inside the Nuffnang Blogopolis lootbag. When I took it out I found four different scents of AcQuaBELLA.

AcQuaBELLA by Penshoppe

But this one has got to be my favorite labeled as "I am Sassy". Yeap for real, my blogger name is Sassy. My own short version for Sasa Yap. So feeling ko it was made just for me...awww! Birthday month ko pa naman...feeling special tuloy. Hahaha, babaw di vah?

#AMASASSY, I am Sassy Scent AcQuaBELLA by Penshoppe

That was the last photo I took and called it a day!
Thanks Nuffnang Blogopolis sponsors especially Penshoppe for this giveaways.

Speaking of Googly Gooeys merchandise, creator Pong Go mentioned during Nuffnang Philippines Blogopolis that Tipsy and Ponggo designs are also available as bag tags in Bags & Tags Kiosk. So when I passed by their Market Market branch, I verified if they do have it in their line-up and yey, they have it!

I quickly chose one for hubby and one for myself. Actually medyo nagdalawang isip pa nga ko which one to get for him kse maraming interest si Jasey. But I decided to get Ponggo (the blue goo) as a gamer over Ponggo as a photographer. Medyo career kse sya lately with Xbox NBA 2K13.

As for me, it was an easy choice when I saw this Tipsy (the pink goo) design because it looks exactly like my office workstation. See the couple's pic at the side, even yung clip resembles my desks. Hihihi.

Joy, the Bags & Tags attendant layed and printed out the 2 items in less than 10 minutes! I was just thinking of just posting the bag tags via instagram but ambilis nyang nagawa, naaliw ako sa kanya so I decided she is worthy of a blog posts as well.

It was also around this time last year that I was helping out preparing for my former company's Christmas Party for more or less 400 employees which was also held in Makati Shangri-La Rizal Ballroom B & C. So  before I start posting more about the main program let us just give credit first to the organizers and sponsors as I could pretty much relate to them. Kinda like a post mortem. I kid you not that organizing such events are not easy so the misses really are more about things to improve and lessons learned. Let us start the ball rolling...

Pre-event

Hit: Blogopolis.ph was an effective tool and had the right amount of information to get someone excited for the event.  I especially like the Speakers and Panelist Page since I get to familiarize myself with their works. I also like the clean and slick color scheme and design layout. Now that I look at it again, the color combo resembles that of Sulit.com.ph which was one of the major sponsors. Not sure if this was intended or just a happy accident.

Hit: Easy to buy tickets thru Multiply.Com. Gone are the days for complicated steps in buying a ticket instead with just few clicks you can already get one or two or more. The payment channels are also very accessible especially for non-credit card holders like myself (we have a no credit card policy at home). So passing by BPI to deposit my payment is just like paying at the nearby sari-sari store. (Although I read in a tweet that on a later date medyo nagkaproblem ata with buying online)

Miss: There was no information available what happens after you buy the ticket. I had to ask pa via twitter what to expect and sinabi lang is wait for my RFID to be delivered at my shipping address then after few days I got a text confirming if I already made payments. Ako pa yung nagoffer na ipapadala yung picture of the deposit slip thru email so they could verify it. Sana nakalagay na sa FAQ section yung process after buying the ticket.

Miss: The Multiply auto reminder kept sending me notifications to make my payments kahit  na I'm already paid na. I thought the difficult combination of the Reference Number would make my deposit unique for easy identification kung sino yung bayad na.

Hit: Holding it at November is just the right timing. People just came out from a long weekend and they are not too busy either with the Christmas Season. Nowadays kse sobrang daming Christmas party kang aattenan so sakto lang yung mid-November. Besides, birthday month ko pa naman to. Feeling ko dami kong handa for my birthday hahaa.

Miss: Holding it on a Sunday. Many did not make it up to the networking night because they had to leave for church even panelist Jane (Between Bites) left at around lunch time to attend church service. Indi naman ako affected here kse I attend Saturday church service at Victory Fort. Hehehe. Pero as I suspected, which was later confirmed by Sir Eric (Nuffnang), it is really because of the availability of the venue. Talagang mahirap na nga to because a lot of companies make their bookings talaga early for the Christmas Parties.

Hit: The price tag. I became a Nuffnanger just this year so my earnings from it sobrang modest pa talaga. So having to shell out Php 999 is just the right amount for me to invest in such an event. It was not intimidating for newbies to register kse hindi sya sobrang mahal. Especially after coming home with 4 lootbags in my hand, new learnings in my head and new ties with fellow bloggers.

Semi-Miss: Hope they could also offer discounted tickets. We are a duo kse, I blog and my hubby takes the photos. Medyo it become steep na for both of us kung 2K na yung babayaran. Besides he had an event also during the morning so late afternoon na sya talaga makakapunta if ever. Sobra syang nahiya when he arrived 7pm to come upstairs with me when he picked me up kse wala daw syang ticket. So pinilit ko lang syang magpapicture  sa photobooth and he waited by the door as I wrap it up sa networking night.

Me and Hubby at the Photo booth

Pre-event pa lang parang ang haba na ah! I'll cut it for the meantime and just continue on my next post.

Nov 20, 2012

Growing up with the Ramos, we have two artists at home. My Tatay who sidelined as a graphic artist in the hotel he was working for aside from being their receptionist when he was still an OFW in Saudi Arabia and my Kuya who took Architecture in UST but later on pursued graphic designer as a profession. Ako hanggang sticks drawing lang! Being a kid, I was soooo envious of my older brother's talent. Indi ko pa naiintindihan that time that si Lord binibigyan tayo ng kanya-kanyang gift to be used for His Glory. Basta ang alam ko lang indi ako marunong magdrawing. But despite my jealousy, I would always be proud of my kuya's talent to the point na nagpipresinta pa ko sa school na sya na lang ang gagawa ng drawings for our Grade 4 bulletin board. Which later on napagalitan ako kse according to my Tatay, I was putting unneccessary pressure to my brother without him knowing it. In short, kinokompromiso ko daw hahaha. Well, I was just being a proud baby sister lang naman, kahit lagi nya akong inaaway during that time. *PEACE!*

Until now, I would still enjoy looking at drawings secretly wishing I could do one as well (Pero this time tanggap ko na indi yun ang gift ko from God). So being an avid reader of Patty Laurel's blog, she posted this web comics depicting her wedding prep with fiancee (husband after 2 days from now) Patrick.

This very cute characters known as The Googly Gooeys are created by Tipsy (the pink goo) and Ponggo (the blue goo) who are real-life married couple. Their blog posts are always a feast to the eyes for being colorful, cuddly, light and funny. Their blog is the only blog I was already reading from the speakers/panelists roster prior Blogopolis so I was excited to see them.

What was more endearing was when they shyly tweeted that "Tippy and Anthony Go" are Tipsy and Ponggo in person. You can almost feel how proud but a little nervous they were for being part of the panelists then speakers for Session B. Sayang nga lang kse I was registered for Session A but just the same I was still happy to meet them. I heard kinareer nila yung slide presentation and gave out merchandises during the breakout session.

Meet the creative brains behind the adorable Googly Gooeys

I could relate when Tippy reminisced that they only have 3 Likes in FB page! Kasi ako I just created mine and I only have 5 likes, 2 of which eh boys pa to think my target readers are 30s Christian wifeys. Hihihi!

Me and Tippy in an another blog post

Tippy Go aka Tipsy the Pink Goo

Their success as bloggers also allowed them to merchandise their creation into plushie keychains then when asked 'What is next for them?', here's the answer straight from Tippy:

Late October I shared with you my entry to the BFF Photo Contest by Lulu Swing & Pink Me Up Beauty Nail and Dry Bar. So last Sunday before stepping out of the door to go to Nuffnang Philippines Blogopolis, I checked my Instagram and found this pretty lay-out with our picture in it...Yey!

Wrong spelling aside, the lay-out just made my heart melt -- our long time friendship celebrated together with this young budding entrepreneurs (Yeap, Isa and Steph are younger than Aisha and I). I just want to give thanks to the Lord for blessing us with this opportunity through the generosity of this two ladies. From one besties to another.

WATCH OUT for my post as we claim our prizes soon!

Moving along, I mentioned to you that I decided to go low key for my birthday. I would usually celebrate with different small groups but this year hubby just treated me to a couple's day to the spa. But when I went in to last Sunday's event I surprisingly made connection with the Panelist and fellow bloggers, I enjoyed exhanging tweets with them so just want to give a shout to everyone who made this birthday more exciting.

Much thanks to the following:

Nov 19, 2012

NuffnangPH announced that the very first Philippine Bloggers Summit will be held at the Makati Shangri-La then kid us to come in -- dress to the nines. But their official website for the event did not mention what to actually wear.

But I decided to dress a little bit for the day as my tribute to Makati Shangri-La for being in the TOP 5, yes country men TOP 5, in the ranking of Conde Nast Traveler Best Hotels in Southeast Asia. So I pulled out the black dress I got from my cousin-in-law base in Canada. I haven't worn it yet because I was saving it up for a special occassion...that special day that my tummy won't bulge in it hahaha. But it was not happening anytime soon so I just decided to bring my PD&Co. Blazer to cover it up when I get tired of holding my breath (to get my stomach in) for the whole day. Seriously, I did!

Of course, I was going to wear my Lulu Swing Cancan shoes with it which was a given. But what I was surprise of is that I was getting a lot of compliments not just from the bloggers but also via twitter regarding my pic tweets of the event with me wearing this intricate mustard necklace:

My eye catching Mustard and Gold Necklace

I was looking out for an accessory to match up my Lulu Swing Cancan but I fell in love with the color even more when Lulu Swing Mustard Minuet came out recently. So when I saw this at Market Market BGC Fashion Market I thought I could match the two together.

Color of Mustard in Lulu Swing Cancan & Minuet

I think I actually blushed when Tippy Go of Googly Gooeys said "Kanina pa nga kita napapansin dahil sa necklace mo *giggles* " when I approached her to ask for a picture.

With Tippy Go "Tipsy" of  Googly Gooeys

But you know what, I got this one really cheap! As I've said before I am not good with accessories and jewelries so I don't spend on it that much. I got it only for Php 250 after haggling with the tiangge tindera in Market Market to give it to me for Php 200 from the original price of Php 300! I guess for this one I got more than my money's worth.

Aside from my OOTD (Outfit of the Day), my favorite thing for the day has to be my Blogopolis RFID Card by LetsTrendItPh or as I call it the Tap Card. It was my all access pass to the cool surprises Nuffnang prepared for us that day. But the tap card is so fun to use I'll make another post about it!

I'm betting you have favorite things not just for the day but everyday! Please do share it with me together with Lulu Swing and Miss-Match.com.ph by joining their contest dubbed as "My Favorite Things" and win for yourself pretty shoes JUST LIKE ME! Yes, darlings I won the other Lulu Swing Promo with Pink Me Up... so I just want to spread the good news and give others a chance to win this ongoing promo. Check out their contest page for mechanics. Good luck!
