I have to admit that when it comes to shopping I am fond of tiangges. I still do buy a piece or two from branded shops once in a while. But being a young wife and blessed to have this time to save up before having a baby, I have programmed myself to become resourceful when looking out for budget friendly outfits. Pieces that would be within the 250 to 500 peso-price-range. Pag more than that na, dapat branded naman ng onti.

Greenhills is the tiangge mecca but it could be very tiresome to go around each and every stall so I am glad that Market Market BGC have a tiangge area inside their mall. But my dilemma now is that the clothing stalls caters mostly to petite ladies. So poor me who had gained weight due to subclinical hypothyroidism, it became harder to buy clothes from the tiangge. Until I discovered Marmalade Shop inside Fashion Market.

Unlike their neighboring stalls, Marmalade sells nice tops and dresses that actually fits woman of my size without making 'em losyang. Let us admit that tiangge clothes in bigger sizes oftenly sacrifice style over fitting. But thanks to them I already have some OOTD (Outfit of the Day) which includes a piece from Marmalade Shop.

Speaking of Googly Gooeys merchandise, creator Pong Go mentioned during Nuffnang Philippines Blogopolis that Tipsy and Ponggo designs are also available as bag tags in Bags & Tags Kiosk. So when I passed by their Market Market branch, I verified if they do have it in their line-up and yey, they have it!

I quickly chose one for hubby and one for myself. Actually medyo nagdalawang isip pa nga ko which one to get for him kse maraming interest si Jasey. But I decided to get Ponggo (the blue goo) as a gamer over Ponggo as a photographer. Medyo career kse sya lately with Xbox NBA 2K13.

  

As for me, it was an easy choice when I saw this Tipsy (the pink goo) design because it looks exactly like my office workstation. See the couple's pic at the side, even yung clip resembles my desks. Hihihi.

Here are the flavors we already tried and we never got disappointed. I adore it more after learning the story that this gourmet popcorn is actually a testimony of faith by Chef Tony himself. No wonder that the product is well thought of and executed as it is in the honor of our faithful God.

Weee...I finally got my FREE 385 grams of Tub of Hapiness from the good heart of Chef Tony on the day of my birthday. Here is attendant Ruffa handing me the White Chocolate Parmesan, isn't she adorable.

A few weeks ago, another new dining experience was added to the growing roster of Market Market BGC restaurants. Moshi Koshi Noodle Boss is a Japanese restaurant specializing on noodle dishes. Their website announced the new branch opening with this very cute pop up window.

Day 1 of the long weekend (Nov 1-4), we had our  lunch there to officially start our 4-day staycation. We tried out the Tonkatsu with Potato Salad and Bento Meal Chicken Teriyaki. Both served with a bowl of rice and miso soup.

So right after attending Victory Fort Church Services in Every Nation Building you can easily cross the street to conduct your smallgroup meeting there or dine with your family.

As promised yesterday, I am trying out the Coco Fresco found at the 2nd floor of Market Market adjacent to the Bingo area in front of Metro Department Store. The perfect tell-tale sign that it had just opened was the green and white balloons found in each side of the kiosk. Well that, plus the fact that I am starting to memorize the mall like the back of my hand so I could easily spot when something is up.

It is noticeable how their kiosk is quite "dressed up" compared to other coconut vendors. You may even consider it as hip and modern. Even their website has a fresh appeal to it.

But I am betting that soon enough when people start lining up in their kiosk, they will have some logistics problem in this branch having their stand facing the glass wall instead of the other way around.

I am not the adventurous type when it comes to flavors. I am usually happy with plain or original variant. I just feel my palette getting all confused if the food is bursting out with flavors. But since I am here to battle it off, I decided to try out their add-on offerings since the strawberry, pandan and ube syrup are for free. Additional Php 15 for Hershey Chocolate and Caramel syrup.

I have to say that in terms of marketing, branding and presentation, Coco Fresco has the upperhand. But in terms of actual product, you can not go wrong with the tree of life -- our beloved home grown produce, BUKO! The taste, serving and pricing are the same in both stores. I had 16 oz. cup which cost Php 45.00 from both.

Battle of the Coconut: Part I

The 12 noon sun did not spare me from the heat of my 5-minute walk to the jeepney terminal. So as soon as I stepped inside the airconditioned Market Market mall, I headed towards the escalator and swift through my way to a much needed refreshment to cool me down. Located near Olympic Village and Food Court, you will find the Buko Express Kiosk right in front of the escalator railings.

I placed my order for a cup of medium unflavored buko shake and was served in no time. If I'm not mistaken my order is a concoction of blended coconut meat, coconut juice, ice and fresh milk.

Sigh, thanks for that refreshing drink! So I was sipping my way to the jeepney terminal, taking the other escalator in the Serendra side going down when I noticed a new kiosk at the 2nd floor near the Bingo area. And guess what? It is also a store selling coconut juice and shake variants. Hmm...this could be interesting. I'll probably try it out tomorrow for comparison.

Battle of the Coconut: Part II

For this week, I was on a hunt for an outdoor sling bag. Big enough to carry my phone, camera, money, sunblock, eyewear and keys. I was quite particular with the fabric or material. I don't exactly know what it is called but I'll know it when I see it.

Last night, I drilled down my choices to two items I saw available online: Deuter Escape I vs. The North Face Sling bags. Both items are more or less being sold at Php 1,000.

I scouted first at Market Market how much it cost if you buy it in sports houses. I just want to make sure I was getting a good deal online. But I didn't find any among the 5 stores I looked into. Hmm...

I asked hubby if we could stop by the Bench store since I was curious if I could carry a fedora hat worn by the mannequins. Although the hat didn't work for me after trying it...Lo and behold an orange, yellow and blue outdoor sling bag was on display in one of the bag racks. PERFECT!

My 1K budget just got slash down to less than 300 bucks. Cool, ang sweet talaga ni Lord magsurprise.

BenchTM is my all time fave Pinoy brandname. No matter what size I am in the season of my life (from L to 2XL and back). I still find something to wear from their clothing line. Perhaps, this can also be attributed to the design geniuses that allow also for the clothes to evolve as their patrons grow up. And I've been a Bench Lifestyle Card holder since 2008. The same year they launch it I think. I am so loyal that I even wore the Reign by Regine V. perfume during my wedding.

A few months ago, I read a post by Ms. Thammie, wife to Victory Greenhills Pastor Dennis Sy, about a jelly-styled sandals that fits perfectly for her needs now that she is pregnant. I, on the other hand, have been looking out for a footwear that I'm thinking of using on the beach sands of our upcoming trip to Coron. But I find thong slippers in different stores to be too pricey considering that they just simply looks like everyday tsinelas regardless of the brand name.

I pass by the Jelly Bunny Kiosk near the Activity Center of Market Market everyday but today a certain design caught the corner of my eye. I tried it out and scrutinize the make. Hmm...looks like it will work just fine in wet places. The attendant even engaged me in a smalltalk that their price are reasonable compared to another store that is selling the same brand. Kse I was trying to haggle from the Php 599.00 price tag. Who knows baka may discount, di ba? But it was one of their new arrivals kaya ayun walang tawad tawad.

So I will be trying them out one of these days and will get back to you in terms of comfort, durability and in short if you will get your money's worth.
